Committee Descriptions

College Night Committee: A committee that organizes the annual OCCA College Night held in early May. Responsible for reserving site of event, securing college representatives, set-up, break-down, dinner arrangements for admission staff and OCCA counselors.

Nominating Committee: A Committee that recruits OCCA members to serve as officers of the organization.

Scholarship & Awards: A Committee responsible for collecting and rating applications for OCCA annual student scholarships, as well as keeping track of nominations and choosing the recipient of the Walt Kennett Award.

Publicity Committee: A Committee responsible for contacting the media to publicize and promote events sponsored by OCCA. This committee may also secure publicity for OCCA monthly meetings.

Historical Committee: A committee designed to keep records pertaining to OCCA (eg. past officers, past topics presented, retirees, etc.).

Retirement Liaison: Person responsible for gathering information regarding the retirees for the June retirement celebration and crating the retirement program. Also will serve as liaison with retired members.

Becoming an OCCA Officer: Anyone interested in serving as an officer of OCCA.
